DC Happy Hours

with one comment

DC Happy Hours is a Mashup site meant to be a user-driven one-stop shop for Happy Hours around the DC Metro area. The grand plan is to have this be worldwide.

DCHH was created Jul ‘08, and is still a work in progress. I got swamped with other client work before I could finish version 1.

how it works

  • Platform: Google App Engine/Django
  • Languages: Python, Javascript
  • Frameworks/APIs: Google Maps (and Street View), jquery for sexyness
  • Blog Posts explaining how I did some things to come: (geocoding, jquery)

accuracy

The accuracy of the site depends entirely on its users. When users find information they deem to be inaccurate, it can be flagged.

The idea is for the site to be fully user controlled. That includes data entry (by drinkers or by bars), moderation for accuracy (flagging items as invalid), and also removal of items.
